The Ultimate Question: To use or not to use compact powders?

Hello Girls,

Many girls fail to understand the proper use of compacts powders. Compact powders are used to set the makeup on the skin for a more long-lasting effect, to kill any shine sheen on oily faces and prepare the skin for the blush that will come afterwards.

However, compact powders are not for every one. People with normal, oily and acne-prone skin are the only ones who should use powder. If your skin is the excessively dry type then definitely stay away from powders; as they will dry your skin further making your face look both flakey and cakey. In cases like these, a good moisturiser and a luminous foundation will be all what you need.

PRO-TIP:
For those of you who will apply powder, the best way to do it is with a very fluffly powder brush. Never use your hands or sponges with compact powders as they will make you look way over board.

TIP #2:
Powders have to match your skin tone and your foundation shade perfectly.

Here are my top picks of powders that I absolutely love:

2) Laura Mercier Setting Powder:

3) Mac Studio Fix Powder:

4) Isadora Compact Powder:
