Who knew that a drop of GLYCERIN can give you a J-LO kinda glow!
Hello Girls,
As you know by now that I love experimenting with things in my beauty routine that no one really knows about. Today, I will talk to you about the unbelievable benefits of GLYCERIN. Yes, you heard me correctly!
Glycerin is usually a term you only read on product ingredients and labels, but did you know that you can buy a bottle of just pure glycerin and incorporate it in your beauty routine? Let me tell you why this product is a brilliant must-have:
1) Glycerin is a hygroscopic (Humectant) product which means it absorbs water from the air. Its ability to retain water in the skin is incredible and this explains why it is an excellent moisturiser for all types of skin especially very dry and very oily skin.
2) Since it retains a lot of moisture, it is safe to assume that it is an anti-ageing miracle filling in soft wrinkles and lines.
3) Glycerin can enhance the skin's glow and youth by making it incredibly soft and supple.
4) Glycerin is a pharmaceutical product; so it is available in all pharmacies and at an unbelievably cheap price. The brand doesn't matter. Glycerin is glycerin at the end of the day.
4) Glycerin works on restructuring the deep layers of the epidermis and is a great solution for cracked heals as well as dehydrated areas of the body like the elbows.
5) Can be used as a facial wash, added in moisturisers, and added to facial toners and eye creams to enhance their effectiveness.
6) Glycerin can be applied to scars, acne as well as wounded skin to help in the regeneration process.
7) Adding glycerin to skin creams has been proven to heal dehydrated skin as well as skin prone to eczema.
8) When using glycerin, a little amount goes a long way. A bottle can stay with you for up to a year.
9) You can mix a few drops of glycerin in a spray bottle and use it as a facial refreshing mist throughout the day to refresh your makeup as well as your skin.
How I use Glycerin?
For an amazing glow, I apply just a few drops of glycerin into my rose water bottle and shake very well. The skin becomes immensely hydrated and the glow will almost blind the people looking at your face. Make sure you don't apply too much, as it can make your skin feel sticky. As long as your toner doesn't feel sticky, then you are on the right track. For a 100ml rose water bottle, I apply 5-6 drops of glycerin. Calculate in this ratio according to your bottle size.
You can also do the same with your face creams and your body lotions. Apply some Glycerin to your bottles and mix very well. This will help your lotion work better. Same trick for eye creams as well.
Glycerin is non-comedogenic which means that it will not clog your pores. On the other hand, it is a great pore de-clogger. Adding glycerin to your face lotions will help heal your skin, reduce scars/marks, kill acne and unclog your congested pores. It is a true breather for your skin.
Glycerin can be slightly applied undiluted to scars and burns. However, it is always better to add them to your beauty products and mix well to prevent the sticky feeling. Remember, a little goes a long way.
Everyone will benefit from this product: people with dehydrated skin, oily skin, acne-prone skin, eczema, harsh elbows, cracked heals, dullness, wrinkles and fine lines etc..
Applying glycerin in the correct amounts to your face creams, body lotions, eye creams as well as toners will give you great results in no time.
Happy Moisturising!
