Tips for your beauty sleep!


Nothing makes you more glowing more than a perfect deep beauty sleep. Deep sleep at night is considered to be one of the best solutions for glowing, and acne-free skin. Since skin cell renewal happens at night, ensuring a deep sleep becomes very crucial in our beauty routine.

Here are some of the daily night tips that I do that helps me regulate my sleep cycles and ensures the most comfortable deep sleep ever!

The Lights:
1) Start dimming the lights gradually at your house as the sun starts to set.

The Sound:
2) Lowering your T.V and music as the night approaches helps put the brain in a sleep relaxing mode.

The Food:
3) Eating a very light meal such as tuna, cheese, salad or yoghurt does not exhaust the body in digestion; thus helping you sleep lighter and faster.

The Bath:
4) Taking a warm bath after a long stressful day can help relax your muscles which will make you sleep faster.

The Drink:
5) Drinking a hot sugarless drink like green tea or chamomile tea is a great relaxing method at night.

The Habit:
6) Don't sleep while your television is on. It disrupts the sleep cycle patterns of your brain and makes you wake up really tired and heavy-headed in the morning.

The Scent:
7) Spraying a lavender pillow mist on your sheets can be a very rewarding thing to do at night for your senses.

The Activity:
8) Instead of watching TV, listening to music or surfing the internet, read a book.

The Soothing Act:
9) Apply warm moisturiser on your feet and hands during bedtime and give yourself a little massage.

The Gadget:
10) Wear an eye mask to prevent the early sun's rays from waking you up too early.

The Sleep Cycle:
11) A person's sleep cycle is complete in exactly 90 minutes. We pass through several sleep cycles during the night. So when you come to set your alarm make sure that you passed several 90 minutes sleep cycles. For example: if you are sleeping at 8:00 and wake up at 9:30 this is one sleep cycle completed. So if you are sleeping at 8:00 am and decide to wake up at 1:00 pm it is better to set your alarm at 12:30 instead of 1:00. At 12:30 you have completed exactly 3 sleep cycles so you will wake up so much more refreshed than if you wake up at 1:00 because then, it will be an incomplete sleep cycle!

 Have you ever slept for three hours and felt unbelievably refreshed and during other days you sleep ten hours and you wake up drowsy and not in the mood? This is because in the first scenario you have completed all your sleep cycles properly but in the second scenario you woke up and your cycles were interrupted!

So the next time you set your alarm, know exactly when you went to bed and count several 90 minutes intervals and set your alarm accordingly. If your sleep cycles ended at 6:30 and you want to wake up at 7:00, trust me you will feel more refreshed at 6:30 than at 7:00.

Stop the snoozing habit, it is the worst thing to do in the morning. You feel your getting more minutes of sleep, when in reality your just creating a pattern interruption to your brain sleep waves. As a result, you will wake up in a terrible and sleepy mood!

Your night's sleep is nature's own secret way of rejuvenating your brain activities, skin adaptations and body functions. Make the best use of it. Good Night!
