Food to Consume in Ramadan to Enhance Skin's Collagen Production.

Hello Girls,

I've compiled for you a list of things that you can increase in consumption during Ramadan in order to help improve your skin's mositurisation levels, elasticity levels as well as collage production.

I highly advise everyone to incorporate in your ramadan diet these types of food to makeup for the loss of hydration that is caused due to fasting.

1) Eat lots of Dark Leafy Greens: Spinach, Cabbage, Kale, and Molokheya. These are highly packed with an anti-oxidant called Lutein which will boost skin hydration to help fight off wrinkles.

2) Eat Lots of Dark Red Fruits and vegetables: Berries, Strawberries, tomatoes, beets, cherries, prunes etc... They are packed with Lycopene which is a great anti-oxidant to help in  collagen production.

3) Citrus Fruits Rich in Vitamin C: This will greatly help in smoothing out skin, enhancing its glow and its hydration levels. Lemons and Oranges are great sources.

4) Avocados: Eat lots of these. These are the moisturization miracle agents of natural. Consuming large amounts of avocados will help make your skin glow and wrinkles less visible.

5) Omega Acids: these create the idea environment for collage production. Find them in: Almonds, Cashews, pecans, salmon, and eggs too.

6) Foods rich in Vitamin A: Pumpkin, Carrots, Cantaloupe and sweet potatoes.

7) Foods rich in Hyaluronic Acid: Red Beans. Hyaluronic acid is the most widely used ingredient in high-end skin creams.

8) Food rich in Potassium: Bananas to help quench your thirst and lock in moisture during fasting

Avoid:

1) Food rich in salts as they are very dehydrating.

2) Food rich in sugar as they are very fattening.

3) Avoid heavy meals at Sohour as they disrupt your sleeping patterns at night.

4) Avoid too much caffeine as it makes the brain alert; thus, preventing you from getting adequat sleep which is extremely important for collagen production. (Consume in moderation)

Deserts that are beneficial for your skin:

1) Dark Chocolate (50% cocoa and above)

2) Fruit Salads

3) Low Fat Yoghurt (in moderate amounts)

4) Dates
