Beauty Alert: You have been using Clay Masks the wrong way!
Hello Girls,
It's been almost a month now since my last blog. I miss writing to you girls and updating you about the world's latest beauty tips and tricks. Don't worry, we will catch up with all the latest trends, know-hows, tutorials and more. My 2015 resolution is to write 365 blog posts. So, let's do this :)
Today's blog post will be about Clay Masks:
Who doesn't love a pampering clay mask at home on a Friday morning after a long week of endless work stresses, pollution and exhaustion?
Well, turns out you have been using Clay Masks the wrong way all these years. We love applying clay masks on our skin falsely assuming that the more it stays until it hardens and cracks the better. Wrong!
Clay Masks have three phases:
Phase 1: when it is still soft and damp and when the skin is soaking up all the beneficial nutrients from the mask itself.
Phase 2: Start of the dry phase when the masks slowly changes colour and starts being a bit tacky. This phase is when the mask is acting directly on your capillaries and blood flow.
Phase 3: The very dry phase: this is when the mask dries up, hardens and starts cracking.
Never leave your clay mask until it hardens and cracks up because this way is doing your skin more harm than good. Keeping the mask until it completely hardens will draw out all the moisture out of your skin causing your skin to be very dull and dehydrated.
So the next time you use your clay mask make sure you stop at phase 2 and this should take you from 10-15 minutes maximum.
Wait for tomorrow's blog post about the best clay masks on the market!
