Your way to the perfect shower with the right beauty steps and products.
Hello girls.
Here is a blog post about products that should be on your bathtub for your hair, skin and body.
A good effective shower should last between 20-30 minutes. Of course, many of you will complain that they do not have this luxury especially with kids and a job to handle.
I believe that the shower time is the perfect "me time". It's the time where you actually do the right maintenance for every part of your body. If you are a busy woman, or a new mum, or a newly wed or stuck in exams this is never an excuse to not give yourself the adequate amount of time to give a good amount of care for your hair, skin and body.
Keep this "me time" at night and just before you head to sleep; after you basically finish all your duties and errands.
Quick showers are a must everyday. Those that actually take 5-7 minutes maximum. However, the "20-30 minute" or the " maintenance shower" -as I like to call it- should be done weekly. Here is how to do it:
The 'Beauty Maintenance' Shower Steps:
Hair:
1) Keep it a habit to do a hair treatment weekly. Sweet Almond Oil makes a great hair treatment before the shower. I like to apply some on my hair and tips and give my scalp a quick massage for ten minutes. Cover the hair with a shower cap or a warm towel for one-three hours. (You can keep it longer if you want). You can get Sweet Almond Oil from Attar or I like to use the one by Vatika.
2) Once you get in the shower, use a good moisturising shampoo and not a drying one. Add the conditioner and then comb very very lightly to make sure all the product pass through every strand of hair. Amazing line of shampoo and conditioners are Pantene Clinicare. Will talk to you about them in more details in later blog posts. Find in them big pharmacies and hypermarkets.
3) Do a hair mask for 5-7 minutes. Keep it on your hair while you are taking care of other parts of our body. Then give it a good rinse. A great hair mask that I personally love is BioPoint Bone Murrow Treatment.
Body:
1) While the hair mask is on your wet hair, this is a good time to give your body a good scrub. Scrubbing helps generate blood flow, gets rid of dead skin, helps improves with the appearance of ingrown bumps and makes skin look soft and smooth. Good body scrubs are:
2) After scrubbing apply some shower gel to help remove any scrubbing residue or particles that could be left behind. This is to ensure that the body is left perfectly clean. An Amazing shower gel is:
Feet:
1) We always tend to ignore the rough skin on our feet when we are in the shower. Keep it a habit to use a foot scrub or a pumice stone on those rough ankles for better looking feet in the summer. Pumice stones are sold in pharmacies and supermarkets. They look like this:
Or you can use amazing foot scrubs, if your feet are not excessively dry:
2) With a nail's brush make sure you give your toe nails a good scrub to remove all the left over chemicals from nail polishes and nail polish removers. This will help prep the nails for a new fresh pedicure for the upcoming week. Toes brushes look like this:
Hands:
1) With a body scrub or a hand scrub make sure that you scurb your fingers and palms very well. Your hands are the parts that are exposed the most to all the hard work and they need some pampering.
Remember that the first signs of ageing appear in your hands, so taking good care of them will make them look younger for a lot longer. An Amazing hands and cuticle scrub is by Bath & Body Works:
2) With a nails brush make sure that you clean your nails very well from all the left over chemicals from polishes and removers. Of course, your nails should not have any nail polish on when you are doing that.
Face:
1) Before heading to the shower and while the almond hair oil is still on your dry hair (Step 1), apply some deep cleaning facial mask for your face for about 15 minutes. Great deep cleaning masks are:
2) When you go into the shower, wash your face very well from the mask with your favourite facial cleanser and not shampoo. My favourite is:
3) Scrub your face with a facial scrub and not body or hand scrub. Do this for two-three minutes in circular motion then rinse. This step can be done when the hair mask is on your wet hair-after shampoo and conditioner- and you are waiting for the 7 minutes to pass. Amazing facial scrub is:
Teeth:
I make it a habit to leave an extra tooth brush and an extra toothpaste for the shower use to wash my teeth as well. Will talk to you in later blog posts about this amazing shower automatic tooth paste device. So Cool!
To Sum it up:
Basically, the rule to the perfect shower is to start with shampooing and conditioning the hair. In the hair mask step, this is when you start focusing on other parts of your body like feet, hands, face, teeth etc... Once you are done with all that, rinse the hair mask and the rest of the body and you are ready to go!
Having all the products that you need in front of you in the bathtub will remind you automatically of the steps to be taken.
Don't give yourself excuses to take quick and ineffective showers. You can always allocate 20-30 minutes per week to give your self the perfect beauty maintenance. Results will definitely pay off!
